Bruce Lanphear, MD, MPH, a professor at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, led key studies used by federal agencies to set standards for lead in house dust and air, and to conclude that there is no safe amount of lead in children’s blood. He has led birth cohort studies to evaluate the impact of toxic chemicals, such as lead, phthalates, air pollution, and fluoride on cognitive deficits and behavioral problems in children, like ADHD and autism. Lanphear produces videos to show how our health is inextricably linked with the environment and to elevate efforts to prevent disease.
